Monday looks to be the critical day for central Florida.

i feel for those involved Paul... but i dont know whats gonna happen for us.. thomsons website says those hoping to fly out this weekend are being delayed by 48 hours... thats not much good to us... people work, houses are booked, wages have been paid (and spent) car hire sorted.. everything.. cant tell u how hard i'm praying.. just hope someone up there hears them!! i dont mean to come across selfish but its something we have looked forward to for so long...
our thoughts and prayers are with those badly affected due to hurricane blooming Irma! she can just sod off and leave

On the spot report - All quiet here at present - raining quite heavily but not torrential yet and no wind. Clubhouse prepared with windows etc taped and boarded. Everything closed yesterday - malls, shops, outlets and most gas stations closed early. Walmart shut at 2pm and Target and Publix at 5pm so lots of tourists/evacuees walking around the 192 area looking a little lost for something to do. There is an evening curfew of 7pm tonight with the worst of the storm due late tonight/early hours of Monday - fingers crossed not too bad. We have been warned to expect power outages so don't be too worried if you don't get reports from friends and family in the area.
Have not experienced any gas shortages in this area. Seems to be more southern areas and turnpike stations going north where evacuations are taking place.
So we just need to wait now and see.

Carol
