Celebration
Aug 8th, 2012 at 9:47pm

Just want to say what a fantastic town Celebration is.
It was on a list of suggested places to visit from the owner of the villa I stayed in.

I loved the whole setting especially the lake

Smiled when I saw a clothes shop with the name " Soft as a Grape "

Enjoyed the chocs & ice cream from Kilwins

It really is a great place to visit for a few hours.

Celebration is fantastic especially at Christmas when the houses are decorated and they have 'snow' on Main Street every night.   There is a massive Christmas tree and it is all absolutely beautiful.

Children love playing in the fountains at Celebration and for adults I recommend the wine bar!

Excellent Italian Restaurant
Daughter reports that the Sushi bar is great (so will visit it in Oct)
Definately agree about the ice cream shop, although in 90 deg. heat, it is a race to eat it before it all drips down your T shirt  Grin
Nice walk aroound the lake(s).
There was a dog show taking place in the main street, last time we visited. Very entertaining.
One very large dog performed its toilet  Huh right in the middle of the main street. Everyone around looked horrified, especially the owner who had to deal with it whilst everyone watched  Grin ....guess this sort of thing does not happen on Disney territory   Shocked Roll Eyes

Helen, It was the stalls at the dog show, but you are right, the farmer's market every sunday is very similar.

We have been to the farmers market several times.  I would reccommend it to all as a relaxing and fun venue.  They do have some fresh produce and also have some upscale vendors who sale art and crafts.  The price for attendance is right as well, it's free.

So pleased you enjoyed Celebration, it is one of our favourite places to visit and we tend to go 2 or 3 times whilst on holiday.  Smiley

We usually go for a breakfast in the Market Street Cafe on our first morning, and then have a wander around.

This is a great website to get more information.

Lisa

I looked on the web site and see that they are having a community yard sale on October 6'th.  It sounds like a great oppunirty to get some real deals on quality items

We second the recommendation of the Italian Restaurant, Cafe D'Antonio, especially when the weather is nice and you can dine on the patio.  (We may have to do a dining review soon!)

There are also a few walking paths that wind through some of the surrounding woods, partially on elevated boardwalks.  We enjoy picking up a coffee and heading down the path that starts just to the right of the Bohemian Hotel.  If you go far enough, you'll end up walking along a narrow lake with great views of the backsides of the largest estates in the town.
